Here is a synopsis for the past few weeks:
We celebrated Labor Day with my Zellers family, "Pappy's" side of the family! We had fun eating good food and participating in Aunt Teenie's, yep that's what we call her, scavenger hunt. Of course I forgot my camera, so I can't share pics!
After Labor Day Irene settled over our area of the world and got us pretty wet! Our town and surrounding areas experienced the first flood since 1972! It was UNBELIEVABLE! We survived dry - Praise the Lord! Others we know did not and our prayers are still with them as they recover. Here is a pic of SR 72 which is pretty close to our house, which was greatly affected.
The road is completely covered and so is a small electrical utility area as well!
We heard that this major road would be closed indefinitely for months, however. After some pretty important governmental guys flew over in helicopters and surveyed the damage. Work to repair began immediately! Three days later the road was functioning again! Praise God!
Every little kiddo I talk to at church or our girls friends now know what flooding means or being flooded! Well, at lease they know the terms!
We spent the weekend after the flood yard saleing for our adoption. If you want to check out pics of that head on over to our adoption blog!
We paid respect and remembered 9/11 on Sunday 10 years later. It really took my hubby and I back, that day TRULY changed the course of our lives! I'll share how much one day.
Monday September 12th, rolled around and so did Annalise's THIRD Birthday! Oh my goodness our little Pippy as we lovingly call her has grown fast! Here are some pics of her being blessed with her gifts!
She requested chocolate cake with chocolate icing, she got it in an ice cream version! She's a girl after her parents hearts - WE LOVE CHOCOLATE!
We spent the next week catching up and gearing up for our next yard/bake sale! We were blessed again bountifully! Sunday the 18th we headed to Knoebels in honor of Anna's birthday. It was a BEAUTIFUL day, we couldn't have asked for nicer weather! Here are a few pics of that fun day!
As we close out September I can't help but reflect on how very BLESSED WE ARE!
